MUNDOVIVO AND LAS CONDES BRING THE BEST OF WORLD MUSIC DIRECTLY TO YOUR SCREEN
- Las Condes Cultural Corporation and Mundovivo present on their digital platforms the winter cycle of the World Music Festival, with outstanding exponents of fusion sounds.
- The first two days will be dedicated to unpublished material while on Saturday the 31st will be dedicated to a selection of the music held live in 2020.
Las Condes Cultural Corporation and Mundovivo present this month the winter series of the WORLD MUSIC FESTIVAL, a deluxe program with the participation of renowned bands from Senegal, Spain, Tuvá, India and Chile. The first two days will be dedicated to unpublished material, recorded last January at the Santa Rosa de Apoquindo Cultural Center, while on Saturday the 31st there will be a selection of the live show held during the summer of 2020, in the same place.
It will be a happy and multicultural staging, with first-rate musicians, to fill the winter afternoons with color and sound.
Saturday July 17
- SAMADI. Made up of Pascuala Ilabaca and Jaime Frez, this duo fuses Indian and Latin American music, ranging from versions of Violeta Parra mixed with the depth of Indian singing, to original songs in a refreshing and attractive search for color that merges two millenary worlds.
- IBRAHIMA CISSOKHO. A Senegalese musician, based in France, virtuoso of the “Kora”, an African stringed instrument that is played while singing is in progress. It is a joyful and energetic music from the “Mandingue” world, in its original language and with a colorful staging.
Saturday July 24
- SRI BHAKTI DAS. A musical project by the Chilean Sebastián Kauak, based in India, which takes us on a colorful journey through Indian devotional music, with exclusive material for the Festival, direct from Varanasi. Traditional music and devotional songs with instruments such as sitar, esraj, tabla and bansuri, among others.
- NEWEN AFROBEAT. Chilean band, one of the best “Afrobeat” genre in the world, who have taken this style invented by the Nigerian musician Fela Kuti, to the main World Music festivals in Europe, Africa and North America. Led by 3 women, the group takes harmonized songs to extremes of complexity and beauty rarely seen.
Saturday July 30
- SUBHIRA QUINTET. One of the main artists of Chilean World Music, with more than 20 published albums and dozens of international tours, mainly in Europe. Their music mixes sounds from different cultures of the world with special emphasis on those of the people of the First Nations of South America.

- CAMILA & SILVIO. A contemporary folk duo, made up of researchers, compilers and authors Camila Soria (voice, legüero bass drum) and Silvio Rozzi (guitar, charango, voice), they present a contemporary proposal of traditional music, addressing genres such as zamba, chacarera, huayno, vidala, tinku and sikuri.
- LOS AURORA. This band from Barcelona, trained at the Escuela Superior del Taller de Músics, defines itself as a “mixture of Spanish poetry, dance and flamenco with other popular music”, from the most popular songs by Manuel de Falla to the fusion with other aesthetics. Jazz and flamenco, far from the classical style, but with a unique identity.
- HUUN HUUR TU. The quartet, originally from Tuva, a Russian republic located in southern Siberia, on the northwestern border with Mongolia, is the world’s leading harmonic (or multiphonic) singing band. In an almost magical way, a sound similar to that of a flute appears over the singing, transporting and dazzling the listeners.
